Newlyweds Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, have been invited to visit Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand in the Autumn Kensington Palace revealed this week.

The tour will coincide with the Invictus games which will be held in Sydney between 20-27 October 2018.

Meghan is no stranger to the Invictus Games making her first public outing with the Prince, who is patron of the charity, last year at the Games in Toronto.

The Invictus Games in Sydney will see wounded servicemen and women from 18 nations compete in sporting events in order to celebrate the healing power of sport.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will follow in the footsteps of Harry’s parents Charles and Diana who embarked on their first royal tour as a married couple to Australia and New Zealand in 1983.

The Prince of Wales and Princess Diana took their baby son Prince William on his first royal tour spending 41 days overseas.

Also making their first royal tour as a family in Australia were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with nine-month-old son Prince George in 2014.
