Some of the most annoying things passengers can do in the sky have been revealed on Q&A site Quora
Other irritating behaviours include bad breath, passing wind loudly, lavatory-related issues, hearing travellers joining the ‘mile high club’ or joking about bringing a bomb on board.
Also pestering flight attendants when they are eating is another ‘no no’, says flight attendant Susan Brown.
Brown, who claims to have worked for a number of premium airlines in the past, listed the most bothersome behaviours on Q&A site Quora, when a user asked: “What are some of the things that airplane passengers do that annoy the airplane crew?”
On many flights we give complimentary amenity kits that include socks. Do they know how dirty/disgusting the aircraft floors are? Obviously not
“At least put some socks on”, she writes.

Brown, whose answer has amounted 321,600 views also replied: “to have bad breath. Example when sleeping on a long flight and we start the breakfast service in the morning.
“Wouldn’t it be nice to at least chew some gum or take some breath mints”.
As well as bad breath, what really grinds cabin crew’s gears is when passengers pass wind loudly, according to Brown.
“But please don’t make a really loud noise, and let it all out as if no one is around”.
Manners are also high on Ms Brown’s list, as passengers not “having eye contact” and “[saying] something back” to flight attendants when they greet you is another annoyance.
“A lot of passengers just look at us and goes away. That is rude, annoying and its makes us crew feel invisible. We are not robots, we are humans too”.
As well as this, asking for too many drinks, pressing the call bell ‘by mistake’ numerous times and children running riot after having “lost count on how many times I [see] parents sitting comfortably in their seats and let their kinds run wild on the other side of the plane”.

“The list goes on”, Brown ends.
For him, the top irritant was passengers who joke “about brining a bomb on board” as this causes flight delays and diversions, or even in some cases to have “jets escort them to a secluded runway”.
